Nelson Mandela: A great loss for Humanity

Nelson Mandela  was a great leader of South Africa died yesterday 5 Dec. 2013. He was called "Father of Nation" for South Africa as we call "Mahatma Gandhi" in India. He was influenced by Mahatma Gandhi's Satyagraha Movement. He fought against discrimination and he was first black when he became prime minister of South Africa . He was sentenced life time imprisonment but after 27 years in Feb 1990 he walked free. After 3-4 years when African National Congress(ANC) came to power, he became Prime Minister of  South Africa from 1994-1999.
His famous quote "Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world."Today when Nelson Mandela is no more is the one of greatest loss for humanity. He fought against discrimination of white over black. He was known for non violence and his contribution to South Africa and whole world. He was awarded by Government of India with highest civilian award "Bharat Ratna" in 1990.He received more than 250 honors. Nelson Mandela won Nobel Peace Prize in 1993 for his unforgettable contribution to humanity.Yesterday "The Nelson Mandela" an era came to end, when after suffering from illness he died at age of 95.I would say a "Great loss" for humanity. He is no more but still he will live in so many hearts.

Disable people are also human beings,They should be treated well as other human beings.

As I am writing this post I doesn't mean that disability is not a serious issue or it doesn't impact on individual or society. As of 2001 census in India has close to 2 crore people who are disabled.WHO said in world around 1 billion people are having disability of various kinds.
But as I see mostly poverty and disability both have close linkage.People who are poor if they are not disable then they are facing social discrimination in our societies. As a disable person have less opportunities for education, employment and other opportunities in life same condition I see with poor people.
There is no doubt that dream for discrimination free and equal life for a disabled person require a comprehensive changes in our institutional arrangements and legal provisions but the most important change has to come in our minds,in our attitude towards the disabled person.
Rightly has been this said, "if you want to judge others, judge accordingly what they can do,not on what they can't. Judge them based on who they are,not on who they aren't."
Care and consideration for sick, elderly and poor people has always been part of Indian culture.
People with disabilities should be treated well as human beings.I request to all that please care for physically or mentally disable people as well as elder and poor people. It is the bounty of Allah (SWT) that we don't have any disabilities.

Muslims should pay Zakat to reduce poverty in India

Beyond the debate, govt. accepts 65% Indians are poor.Notional poverty line will stand at a per capita expenditure of around Rs. 50 per day in rural areas and Rs. 62 in urban area.As first reported by The Hindu, the Planning Commission has revised the official poverty headcount ratio down from 37 per cent of the total population in 2004-05 to 22 per cent of the population in 2011-12.
“This is a step away from the narrow definition of poverty we have been using, where the line is really what I call a ‘kutta-billi’ line; only cats and dogs can survive on it,” said N.C. Saxena, member of the National Advisory Council, who headed a Planning Commission panel on poverty that recommended automatic inclusion and exclusion criteria.
Even if they have raised the per capita amount still I don't think in today's world surviving in 50/- in case of rural areas or 62/- in case of urban areas is easy.Every muslim is ready to fight when this name "Islam" comes and someone is saying against our religion. But what do you islam don't teach about "zakaat(giving 2.5% to poor)"? Now I am an engineer I realized when govt is forcefully taking at least 10% of your salary when it exceeds to 2 lakhs. But giving to needy people just 2.5% of our salary is headache for most of us.Even if zakaat is farz(compulsory) in Islam most of us we don't care.If every muslim give Zakaat in india at least we only can reduce more than half of poverty in india.
If I talk about any other religion may be it's not farz(compulsory) on you, but at least some amount of your earning say 2-3% give to needy people so we can remove poverty from india irrespective of just relying on our govt. So at least our brothers who are hungry they can also eat at least 2 times a day.

A Humble Request to All NITians

Today I saw in morning a person was brushing his teeth with tap open.I have seen so many times the same incident. Does it make any sense when you are doing something else your tap is still open?? I am not saying that you don't use water, use as much as you want but please don't waste it.As I belong to a state Rajasthan which is having water scarcity in some of its areas, I feel very bad when I see water is being wasted just because people don't have water scarcity in their state.
We always talk about woman empowerment, but you guys are not aware about rural women who bring water just for drinking from 1 or 2 km far away from their home.Just few days back (8-14 march) when water supply was restricted for 6 hours in a day all of you may have felt the importance of water.I have seen so many villages where they have only 1 hour water supply in whole day. Please think about people who are not lucky as much as you are when you do brush next time with tap open.
I am not the one who will teach you how to brush, but its my humble request to all of you please use water when it is necessary.Feel the importance of water and save it.I have given a example which generally i saw in hostels, but their are various forms/areas where we can save water, not because of using it in a less quantity but not doing waste in a huge amount.

How do Muslims in India view Pakistan?

Ok I will answer this as I am Muslim and from India.

Let me be honest. We have our own set of problems here but do not face discrimination in everyday life.

As a Muslim, I can aspire to be the prime minister of India one day. I can aspire to become a cricketer, a businessman. Anything I want to be. I know as long as I educate myself and pursue my dream I will be able to succeed.

India has tried and been successful on many levels with being a secular state. Sure we have our own problems but who doesn't?

Today I have a job, a family, I live in a good home in a society where mainly Hindus reside but have never felt like they have tried to push me out of any of the activities they are doing.

I will also say that all kinds of Muslims are able to exists in peace in India which is almost impossible to happen in Pakistan now a days. We are proud to be from India - a secular state where all kinds of religions exist in peace and always have.

Are women better managers than men?

Some survey which I recently read say that women are better managers than men.If we are talking about home then surely answer of this question will be yes. Because we see in home how well they manage. But if we talk about open world than I may not be agree with you.
Any how every gender has some strengths and weakness. For example women are very emotional and cannot handle failure. At the other hand men are stronger and tough they can fight back after any failure.Women can take wrong decisions in difficulties or failures because of their emotional behaviors. But we see how women are good in caring for others. On the other side men are having problem with their attitude. women can negotiate easily compare to men.
My first point why women are good in home. Its all depends on practice.Whatever we practice we will become good managers in them. For example a good cricket player can easily decide which ball to hit and which to leave.More we practice more we make good decisions.Usually women do home related things or I should say they built our home. They make our house (A building) to home.So no doubt they are good managers in home related decisions. If we give chance to them in open world may be they can also be a better manager. After all its not about gender its about management skills.
My conclusion on this topic is we can not decide which gender is good in managing. There are several examples where men are better managers than women and vice-versa. Every gender has their strengths and weakness. If we give training of management then any gender male or female can be a better manager.
After all its all about management skills not about gender.
